BRIEF NOTES ON...........

In India, most of the commercial activities are controlled by various statutes, and individually and collectively the citizens are bound to pay tax, either in the form of income tax or in the form of commercial tax.

The Income Tax Act is the one, which governs each individual's income and assesses the income tax to be paid by the individual under the procedure laid down in the act and is uniform throughout India.

Commercial tax, sales tax and other related statutory taxes varies from place to place and state to state and is not uniform.

It is difficult to define each one, as there are many statutes, which govern the tax. As such it is advised to consult an advocate or Legalight online on specific queries.
